looks Exactly how my minds-eye had ‘Pictured’ that she Would look … except, can she Really have a Baby, already !?!?!
that 1 looks more like a pix from her personal collection, more than a movie shot, to me.

I believe it’s ‘Noo-my’, as an English speaker would pronounce it, but I’m not sure. It’s probably not a Swedish name (nor Spanish – like her father; nor from Iceland – where she grew up).
I think that baby-pic is a promoshot for something or other, but she does have a son – so maybe it’s hers! (And yes, she is actually 30 so … ). Her birthday was just a couple of days ago, as a matter of fact (28 Dec 1979). I should’ve made an event out of it, but I was busy being stuck in Christmas traffic! :-]

hmmm, i had a couple of other alternates, both wrong then :
“know-O-me” “noy-O-me” and “new-O-my”
so, how do the Danish say it ? Also “Noo-my” ?

Remember: I’m only guessing about how the Swedes say it, but since Swedish and Danish is somewhat alike … I think it’s probably a correct guess.
Many Danes (and Swedes) don’t pronounce English, or other foreign names, correctly, though. Danes would probably say No-my [English pronunciation - 'my' like A-my], thus omitting the long ‘u-sound’ which English-speakers usually derive from putting two o’s together.
There’s actually a nice Facebook-fan page for Noomi (I believe I’ve linked to it on my own little fan page), so if it gives you sleepless nights why not join up and ask the good people there! Lotsa Swedes and other Scandinavians are members!

It’s ”Nu-mie” after what I have heard. The name Noomi is German, but ”adopted” by Sweden and Denmark, and means ”beautiful”.

I’m danish and actualy everyone i know pronounce it just like it’s spelt, “Noomi”
And just a fact, the picture with the baby, is from a danish movie she was in called “Daisy Diamond”

Just grabbing at flailing straws here, but I checked it out during my lunch break at school, and I am quite certain to state that Noomi Rapace is definitley taller than Lisbeth’s four foot nine/five foot.

Ha! Saw a picture in a magazine the other day of her standing with danish actor Mads Mikkelsen and the director of the movie Clean Out at some award event or so. Everybody smiling and posing for the cameras on the red carpet. Except Noomi. Still in (Salander) character..? Hmm.. guess that’s just wishful thinking

hey uhm ,i am actualy seeking the drawing of the dragon tattoo what noomi got on her back in the millennium triology , u can see it a few times i mean the massive one that is on her back.
